I check my email whenever possible as I travel.
The one advantage in emails is you can explain your needs and we can discuss back in forth till we have a firm idea of your requirements. I also find email is a way for us to get to know each other as if I am working, I can not talk till job is over. At some point we can video chat so that it is more personal.
